hmmm... to be absolutely sure I have to check under the hood. But for right now, from the top of my head ... here's what you look for. Locate the ignition coil packs. Its where your spark plug wires connect to (not the spark plug end - the other end). To be absolutely sure there are three of them and each coil fires two cylinders (plugs). Now look carefully where these coils are sitting (its the same plate they are connected to) - that's your ECM module. Now on the left side of the engine (if you're facing the car its your right side - driver side) you shoud see 2 wire harnesses/plugs that are connected to the ECM module. Find the one with 5 (five) wires in it. The middle wire and I believe its white in color, is the tach wire. Just get a tap from that wire and you're good to go. Of course the rest (buying a Tach o meter and finding positive wire and ground) I'm expecting you to able to by yourself!!!
why doesn't my rpm gauge and temp gauge, fuel gauge not work
If you are wanting to install a Tachometer to see your RPM, the following site gives diagrams and schematics for wiring. They list many Honda related fixes etc... Hope this is helpful Either replace the Gauge Cluster with an SI/EX one or install a Aftermarket one. The RPM Signal wire is behind the Gauge Cluster on all models even if not equipped with a Tach
The RPM gauge is connected to the same wiring on as all the lights on the dashboard. A faulty RPM gauge can be replaced but requires removing the whole dash from the vehicle.
2-3 rpms
while driving the rpm gauge work perfect, when start accelerating the rpm can not exceed 3 with interruption in the engine
Your engine is not running or your "RPM gauge" is broken.
different trim levels and options as ordered when the truck was new. If you really want or need a tachometer, you can go to any auto parts store and buy an aftermarket one. they are pretty simple to install too.
Check oil level install manual gauge to get accurate reading
You dont need one you idiot, i will key your ricer 300zx if u ever do that, your a disgrace to all 300zx owners!
Perhaps throttle plate in throttle body is stuck open - try to free with a screwdriver
