I just have an adapter that i keep in the back of my explorer that goes from a 4 to 7 prong trailer hook up
With the proper adapter, yes.
The center pin of a seven blade trailer plug is for reverse lights, not power. What type of truck is it? What trailer plug do you have...
Plug in the trailer harness into the 7 pin hookup next to the receive hitch if you have a stock towing package.
You buy a direct plug in kit from the Dealer.
Under hood in the power distribution center on the driver side fender.
The trailer harness plug should be located behind the rear license plate holder. Some 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe's were not equipped with the trailer harness plug.
It is supposed to be on Stud #2 under the hood. Mine is fine and I still can't get power to the rear plug.
If you have the tow package it should just hook up at the rear tow plug. Check owner's manual. If you don't have one copy and paste link below; www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/owners_manuals
There is an existing plug behind the left side tail light (look up from under the bumper). Get the proper tee-connector and plug it in.
Right next to the oil pan plug, you will see small connector with a wire leading up. can miss it
I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500HD ext cab 4x4 long box. My brake lights work on the truck but they do not work on the right side of the trailer plug on the truck. I have checked the wiring and plug from the plug to the gas tank and I could not find a problem. Do you have a suggestion on where or what to look at next?
