Most diesel engines are hard to start when it is cold. Plugging the diesel engine block heater in will help the engine start.

The Dodge Sprinter did not come out until 2002. The heater is an add on option that is installed in a freeze plug on the passenger side of the block.

The block heater, on your 2001 C 15 Caterpillar diesel engine, can be removed by loosening the retaining nut. The block heater will easily come out. Reverse the process to install the new heater.

The 2007 Ford escape engine block heater is located on the right hand side of the engine block. You can follow the block heater cord to the block heater.
5.4 i believe is a gas engine. gas engines do not have a standard block heater, this would be an extra added by the owner the diesel engines have a block heater, and if it has never been used the cord and plug will be found rolled up between radiator and grill
not because its a turbo but a diesel will at very very cold temps. for an extended time
