you open up the oil Reservoir and fill it up. it should be located on the exhaust side near the steering post
The side of the transfer case facing rear will have a fill plug about half way up.
A 2012 4.0 Jeep Wrangler needs up to 6 quarts of oil for an oil change.
You can pour fluid into the power steering reservoir. Remove the top to the reservoir and fill to the full Mark on the side of the reservoir.

On the side of the trans about half way up and in the middle, fill until some comes out.
Fill to the full mark on the dipstick.
Lift hood, find power steering pump, remove pump reservoir cap, add correct PS oil, check level on dipstic or fill line on pump.

Similar to any other gear box, there are two drain plugs, one on the bottom, and one on the back half way up the side. Drain from the bottom, and fill from the side, when fluid trickles out of the fill hole it is full.
