Saturn's are among the growing number of newer vehicles which use a "sealed" transmission. It doesn't have a dipstick. Fill a Saturn transmission by opening the fill plug on the side of the transmission. Fill the transmission up to the fill plug, then put the plug back.
The Saturn transmissions, like most modern vehicle transmissions, are considered to be sealed and maintenance free... or at least relatively maintenance free. Given that perspective, engineers have not equipped the Saturn transmissions with a dipstick/fill tube. To check or fill the transmission, there is a fill hole on the side that is used both fill and inspect. The transmission level is considered full when the fluid is up to the bottom of the fill hole.
Fluid is added down the dipstick tube.
You have to fill the trans fluid through the dipstick tube.
The fluid goes down the dipstick tube.
You fill transmission with fluid through the transmission fluid dipstic tube
The transmission oil is in the transmission the dip stick to check it and fill it is on the drivers side, top of the transmission near the fire wall.
These transmissions do not have a dipstick, the fluid level is checked by removing a fill plug on the case, similar to a manual transmission.
on an automatic you have to fill through the dipstick tube. on a manual you have to fill through the fill plug on the side of the case.
about 7 there is an over flow screw located from underneath on the side of the transmission.. as soon as the fluid starts to come out there it is full
There is a black fill plug on the very top of the transmission. It is below a wiring harness and an AC line (I Believe).
There is a fill bolt on the transmission assembly under the car. It should be located on near the top of the transmission but it is easily accessable with even a floor jack or ramps.
