The medeco lock I just disassembled had 4 screws -- two on the edge of the door holding the latch in place and another two on the "interior" side, under the eschushion (sp?) plate -- the flatish part of the lock that actually touches the door. The trick is getting this plate off the door.
The interior knob should have a small notch on the neck of the knob, and there is a spring-loaded tab sticking through this notch to hold the knob on. Press this tab with a flat-head screwdriver or something similarly small and rigid (like an ice pick, or the pointer part of a triangle file.) while pulling on the knob. The knob should slide right off.
Next, look for a similar tab or wire loop sticking out from around the edge of the eschushion plate. Pressing this towards the shaft that the knob just slid off of while pulling (or prying lightly) on the place should make it come free.
Now you should be looking at the final two screws -- take them out, monkey with the "outside" handle for a bit, and the latch should release from the locking mechanism letting the whole knob assembly come free.
Reverse the process to put the lock back.
Either replace the lock or disassemble it for manual repair.
open the drivers door. on the car chassis underneath the catch for the door lock there will be a sticker. the paint code is on this. usually 4 digits
On the 2006 model the paint code is on the door sill or on the post where the lock is -on the drivers side.
They have been discontinued. You might find someone who still has them laying around.
Schlage is the most common one, but Medeco is very common too for people who value their security.
There are a number of reasons why your door might not lock. You could have something stuck in the door for example.
The answer is a key
The power locks can only be engaged from the driver's door. You press down on the door lock on the driver's door and it will lock all the doors. Or you turn the key in the lock to the right in the door lock of the driver's door and it will lock all of the doors.
Slide the card through the slot where the lock is by the door. Set the card where the lock would be. Now open the door.
Spray some WD40 in it,have a rag with you because it will run back out you don't want it on paint or any other material.
Begin by removing the inside door panel on your 1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager. Remove the door lock linkage. Remove the door lock retaining bolts. The door lock will come out.
You will have to remove the door panel. And it will be mounted over by the door lock on the inside of the door.
