You need to put on the emergency brake BEFORE starting the vehicle.
H !
[The answer given is correct, but if you intend to drive this way (to drive with "DRL" (Daytime Running Lights") turned off), only push the emergency brake pedal down JUST far enough to turn on the "Brake" light (use the very first "click" that turn on the brake light). USUALLY, this will not actually engage the brake, but depending on how the brakes are adjusted, there is a slight risk that the brakes would be engaged. Obviously, driving around with the brakes engaged could be catastrophic (could even result in the vehicle catching fire), but you should be able to sense whether there is ANY "drag" from brakes being applied.]
open the fuse panel on the passengers side of the dash, remove the 10amp DRL fuse, the location is shown on the diagram inside the fuse panel cover. This will disable your DRL's and the automatic headlamps, headlamps will still work normally with the switch.
To disable the headlight you push the dome override button 4 times,to turn back on hit it 4 more times.
Automatic
Turn the car off. push on the parking brake 1 or 2 clicks turn car on. the lights will not come on
the sensor is located inside at the base of the windshield, in front of the defroster vent. It looks like a small hole. The newer ventures have 2 holes (one is for the security blinking light) If you are trying to disable the daytime running lights and automatic headlights, then remove the fuse named "DRL"
How do you disable the ABS Control on a 1999 Venture?
On my 2000 Astro there is a small button just below and to the left of the headlight switch. Push that button four times in a row and you will hear a chime and the automatice headlights will be disabled. Tricky, eh?
Headlights are not to stay on all the time, only front parking lights.
approx 8q
Has to be in park with the emergency brake on, or maybe they would turn off if you just tripped the switch on the emergency brake without actually engaging it. That way it wouldn't have to be in park.
That's easy.Just rip it out and put in new ones, just make sure you disable the wiring first.
For the 1999 Chevy Tahoe, automatic headlights are turned on by default. Turning them off requires opening the bezel on the dashboard and removing the light sensor.
