You can unplug it. Its under the dash board
Pull the key out just a little and the chime will stop. It may be controlledfrom the radio
You can do this by locating the dinger under the dash and unplugging it. Once you have this unplugged, it will not make the sound anymore.

disconnect + battery terminal for 60 seconds then re- connect.
To disable the seat belt warning system; you must follow the procedure listed under safety restraints. It is on page 88-91 in my manual and involves a whole list of things you have to do while the ignition system is turned to the on position but without the car running.
I had this problem on my disco 1. Turned out to be the alternator, which was replaced and the problem was fixed.
Sure, disconnect the drive shaft to the wheels that you want to disable. Is it recommended or safe, no, but you could do it. Once you pull the drive shafe, you may get a warning light, could damage systems in the car, could affect the warranty.
1: Disconnect battery for 30 mins, reconnect and if fault is fixed light will go out. 2: Once vehicle is fixed, turn ignition on and off 40 times, if fault hasnt been found in 40 starts the light will reset itself.
The chime module is under the dash on the right of the steering column. To disable the Key-in ignition warning chime simply cut the Black/Pink wire. Its a 7 pin harness going into a large black box. Easy test is to put your key in, open the door and hold the black box with the wire harness still attached next to your ear. Then simply cut the wire to quiet it.
