With the car jacked up and level. Follow the right side axle inboard into the tranny. Where the axle enters the tranny you will find a 7/16 bolt at approximately the four oclock position. It is a small hole so look carefully. With the engine running and the tranny hot remove the bolt. If fluid does not drain at small portions of fluid until it seeps out. If adding fluid after a tranny filter change it will take about 7.5 quarts.
If your Oldsmobile Alero will not shift into overdrive, the transmission may have froze up. Check the fluid levels to determine if you are low on fluid.
