The engine and transmission need to be warmed up before the ATF level is checked. The vehicle needs to be up on a lift and level. The engine MUST be running and in park when the ATF level is checked. With that being said, and the vehicle is up on a lift, level, with engine running, in park, remove the plug on the SIDE of the transmission pan, the ATF (Dextron III) level should be right at the bottom of the hole. DO NOT shut off the engine with the plug removed.
You can't
there is no way to check the tranny fluid in a automatic 2000 Vette..GM didnt put a dip stick on this tranny..
how much trans fluid do i add when changing trans fliud in my 2000 focus
You add automatic trans fluid through the dip stick that you use to check fluid level
First check trans fluid. If OK then you may have a trans filter that is plugged up. Change your trans fluid and filter. You may have a plugged filter.
You add trans fluid down the trans dipstick tube.
It doesn't have a dipstick for the automatic transmission.
your vehicle does not have a dipstick tube, your trans is a sealed unit and cannot have fluid added to it.the only way to check your fluid level is at the transmission itself.there is a plug on the passenger side top area of your trans case
Start the Rx. While engine is running have a friend put it in drive while foot on break. Check trans fluid level on dip stick.
I have a 2000 Malibu and it does not have a tranny dipstick. You have to check fluid under car, there is a check hole on the trans. It's a pain in the butt.
Car on level surface, engine warmed up, trans in park to check; add dextron lll fluid little by little through the same ( marked trans)dipstick with a transmission fluid funnel. These items are available at any mart store.
dex 6 auto trans fluid,
