OK, my Stratus is a 2000. if they are similar, the battery is in the driver side wheel well. There is a place under the hood can only say in mine!!!! Up toward the firewall is a ground lug and a red lug or fitting that is your access for charging etc with out taking the wheel well liner out. Hope this helps.
