WINDOW MOTOR REPLACMENT.
One quick point first. If you are having problems with rolling up the drivers side window, (or down) it is most likey the window switch in the center console. These go bad all the time.
First you have to remove the inner door panel. Which is done by removing the outer cover on the inner door handle, where you will find a couple screws behind it. Use a plastic wedge if you have one. Next you need to pop off the "SRS" cover on the side airbag. There is also a screw behind this cover. Then all you do is pop the door panel off the door. There are numerous plastic clips that hold it to the door.
Once the door panel is off, the motor should be accesable. You will want to have the window all the way up, and use some masking tape to run over the window, from side to side, to hold the window up/from falling. Once you take the window motor out the window will want to fall down.
There should just be about 3 torx screws, remove the screws and pop the motor out of the regulator. Intall in reverse order.
ALSO CHECK THE LOOM BETWEEN THE CAR DOOR AS THEY HAVE A TENDENCY TO BREAK SO PULL BACK THE RUBBER AND CHECK THOROUGHLY.

Remove the inside door panel. Remove the wiring harness from the window motor. Remove the track linkage. Remove the window motor retaining screws. Reverse the process to install the new window motor.
yes
Trade it in for a Holden
Unfortunately you can't just change the motor. You have to buy and replace the whole assembly including the window. Its a rip-off but the motor, ratchet, arms and window comes as one replacement assembly.
i need a diagram to install a window motor on a 1980 gmc truck
To change the motor in the 1996 Chevy Cavalier driver's side window, first pry the interior door panel from the door. Then, remove the motor by first disconnecting the vehicle's battery and then disconnecting the wiring to the motor. You can then remove the screws that hold the motor in place.
Remove the window regulator and motor from the door as an assembly. Drill out rivets that hold motor to regulator and replace motor. Regulator needs to be riveted back into door for reassembly
Hi .. To change the power window motor .. Remove the door shell of course You will see the motor for the window .. Unplug the power of course . The motor is actually riveted in so you need to drill out the rivets. Remove the old unit . Then install the new motor with self tapping screws . Plug in the power . Be sure to secure the window when you remove the motor so it doesn't fall. I have not done this yet but am about to embark soon and have done some research . Good luck ..
I have a 1990 Pontiac Transport SE, I have the changed the motor on the driver's window which is power...take off the door panel and you will see the motor...not too difficult of a job...follow the old motor route...
