To be exact it is mounted on the right hand side of the transmission not too far from the bell housing. It two bolts that hold it in place and one line for the fluid to connect to it.To remove disconnect the bolts and line and reinstall the new slave cylinder. Now to bleed the system is simple.Just loosen the bleed screw on it and make sure the fluid reservoir is full and have another person manually push the clutch pedal while the bleed screw is open to force the air out of the system as you would do brakes. This takes several attempt meaning you should fill the reservoir say three times to clear the air/old fluid out and do not run the reservoir empty it will suck air into the system.Once the fluid coming out is clean and NO air bubbles the clutch pedal should be fine. You may need to adjust the pedal inside the truck loosen the lock nut and then loosen the nut closest to the pedal assembly and adjust the pedal height. The pedal height is 255mm or 8.465 inches and that is measured from the firewall towards the drive seat.I would not replace the clutch master cylinder unless it is leaking or the slave is NOT leaking and pressure to engage the clutch is not pushing the fork on the transmission to engage the clutch and throw out bearing.Slave cylinders leaking are a common issue with these trucks.I have replaced mine at least 4 times in 23 years since I bought my truck new.But if you do buy a new clutch master auto zone sells this part with the reservoir as a in stock item for around $40.00.

Does a clutch master cylinder get gummed up?

Just disassembled the master cylinder on my Mazda B2000. It had rusty looking gunk in it and had formed rusty brown deposits on the cylinder wall. It was working in spite of this until the rubber of the primary cup split. Rebuilt the slave cylinder not long ago and it was gunked up worse than the master cylinder. Had to remove some crusty deposits to get the piston and cups out of the cylinder.

Where is the clutch fluid after leaking on a 1986 Mazda B2000?

Normally if the clutch fluid reservoir is low the slave cylinder is leaking at the transmission on the right hand side.Check the fluid level then check the slave and if it's leaking it will be there and typical visual is cracked rubber boot coated in brake fluid.Result to fix replave this part and bleed it as you would brakes, there is a bleeder screw on the slave cyldr and have another person pump the clutch pedal to remove excess air out of system.

The slave cylinder is INSIDE the transmission bellhousing , it slides over the transmission input shaft , and then is bolted to the transmission.
