If it doesn't have a drain plug, then you might want to go to a jiffy lube or something where they can hook a machine up to your transmission lines which is around $100, because of the amount of fluid. Or else if you do it yourself get ready to get messy. You have to remove your the transmission pan and drain it that way, then refill it thru the dip stick with a funnel... hope this helps

The automatic transmission fluid in a 2004 Ford Mustang should be changed every 30,000 miles or once a year. The manufacturer has made this recommendation available in the owner's manual as well.
The 2004 Mercury Mountaineer does not have an automatic transmission fluid dipstick . I know that the 2002 and newer Ford Explorer four door versions do not have a dipstick for the automatic transmission fluid level .
It is important to use the right type of transmission fluid in a cars transmission. The 2004 Suzuki Alto uses Dexron III transmission fluid.
About 6.5 qts. for a filter change, depends on how long you let it drain though. And about 17 for a dry transmission.
