You need to remove the plastic above the lens first, then remove taillight. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove two screws, then use a flat screwdriver to remove plastic rivets for plastic shroud between lens and door. With that shroud off you can see the next nut to remove. Altogether there are about 8 fasteners each side to change the bulbs.
Remove the two screws that hold the lens on, remove the lens and change the bulbs.
To change the dash lights in a GMC Savana 2500, first disconnect the vehicle's battery for safety. Remove the dashboard panel by unscrewing any screws and gently prying it away to access the instrument cluster. Once the cluster is exposed, locate the burnt-out bulbs, twist them counterclockwise to remove, and replace them with new bulbs. Reassemble the dashboard and reconnect the battery to test the new lights.
The solenoid is on the starter.
The bulbs screw in from the rear and if you can't get to the rear, you have to take the light assy off.
If you have it on hand, less than 1/2 hour. Take the connector off, replace it by unscrewing it and reconnect it.
I have a 2005 1500 and you have to pull the whole assembly out. There is a bolt that is really hard to get to on the bottom!
