I have a 2003 Yukon and looked at how to replace the daytime running lamps for about 6 months until I found that the rubber sheet behind the lamp socket had a slit in it. you just have to find this slit from the engin compartment / cooling shroud area and reach through to the socket. Good luck I hope this hasn't worried you for as long as it did me.
