I am not a professional so this answer is based on my attempt to change the battery - not on the way the factory may suggest.
First, it is necessary to remove the diagonal brace that runs over the top of the battery case. On end bolts to the left fender well, the other end bolts to the front of the body that goes over the radiator. That is hard to unbolt as there is a plastic shroud that covers the entire front panel over the radiator. Then, there is a vertical brace that runs from the middle of the diagonal brace to the front/bottom of the battery tray. If you are successful at unbolting the brace (not easy) - Then you come to the fun part.
Second is the battery box cover. It is latched to the battery box tray on the left and back side of the cover bottom. Also, the box has openings where the terminals extend through the back. It is necessary to remove the cables and even then, it requires a significant amount of pulling, twisting and tugging to remove the battery cover.
Note: If you are trying to remove the cover to just check the water level in the battery, forget it! The battery is a completely sealed unit so if it is weak, you must replace it.
Third, you must remove the hold-down block that is screwed to the battery stray.
Only then will the battery come out. Of course, replacing it requires the reversal of the above steps.

The speed sensor on a 2000 Olds Bravada Smartrak is on the top of the automatic transfer case. To change it you need to disconnect the two wires and replace with a new sensor.
The Jeep uses a top post battery and the Olds uses a side post battery. They do not interchange.
