It's not too bad of a job, but you've got to move whatever is in the way of the oil pan.
Once the pan is off, there is one bolt that holds the pump on the thrust bearing cap. Watch for the distributor drive shaft to drop down with the pump.
This would be a good time to upgrade to a drive shaft with a steel sleeve. Much more reliable for just a few dollars.
Also, it's best to put a couple welds on the new pickup if you're using the oem press-in style. The aftermarket ones are often bolted on which works well. Either way works fine.
This information applies to the older small block Chevys, and should be pretty much the same on a '94
