Under the dash on the passenger side there is a round black circle that hangs about 2 inches below the rest of the dash. There are 3 screws holding it up (5.5 mm). The back one is really hard to get to so you will need patience for this job since you will be in a cramped position working on a hard to reach screw. Once you get those three screws out make sure you unplug it or do it before I cant remember if you can get to it while its still mounted. It may give you more room if you pull the carpet back and I have even cut the insulation on the floor for more room.
Good luck.
Most are up underneath the dashboard. Turn on the heater blower motor and listen where the sound is coming from. The heater core is behind that sound.
Yes, IF you open the hood and go to the passanger side and look at the back of the motor, the elements will be sticking out with a cord attached.
Please email me a photo of where the blower motor resistor is and how to change it. Thanks, Michael. By the way I want it for a 2000 Sunfire not a Grand Am.
it is located under the dash on passenger side of the car an if not their its beside the fire wall on the passenger side as well.
The Blower Motor Resistor Pack is defective. Replace it.
Goto www.car-parts.com and look up and engine in the list it will tell you all the cars that have that motor

The heater blower motor in a 1995 Pontiac Transport is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment. It is on the firewall near the hood hinge.
You can find quite a bit of info about Sunfires at this website http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com/1995-to-2005-pontiac-sunfire-6.htm FriPilot
The 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier motor will fit into the 1997 Pontiac sun fire. The motor mounts and the wiring harness are exactly the same.
