How do you change a 2000 Chevy Silverado battery?

It should be on the drive side of the truck in the front directly behind the head light. You will have to remove the bar over the top of the battery, there are two 10 mm bolts holding the bar in. It's easiest to then remove the cables by unscrewing the 8mm or 5/16 bolt holding those in. Then, you need to take out the 13 mm bolt that is holding down the battery in the back. Now, pull the old battery out and put the new one in, reversing the same steps. Good Luck!!!

WARNING: If you don't provide backup power to the electronics, the engine will idle to slow (or to fast) after you have put in the new battery. You can buy a device that plugs into your cigarette lighter on eBay that prevents this problem (and other problems also).
