Check to make sure the fluid is at the proper level. That could cause your swoosh. Let it warm up and see if their are any air bubbles in the fluid. If their is they didn't bleed the system. It could also be that the pump is just speeding up. NEW ANSWER: YOU can't bleed the PS pump and there is no reason to. All you have to do is turn the wheels all the way to the left and right a few times and it will bleed it's self. Are just go and drive it. I've been a mechanic for 30 years and I've never heard of bleeding a power steering pump. Newer Awnser: According to my Silverado Teardown guide, you can bleed the power steering pump by first checking the cold level, adding as needed. Start the truck, turn wheels left and right a few times. Let the system warm up, check level again...done.
