How do you adjust the driver's door of a 1996 Lincoln Town car so that it closes better?
The adjustments for the door are the hinge bolts. befor adjusting these you should check the hinge pins and bushings. My 96 the passenger door would drop slightly when it was opened. After replacing the hinge pins and bushings it closed properly. I bought new pins and bushings at the local auto parts store
I had the same problem but solved this by first jacking the door up as far as possible and then loosen the bolt that holds the top hinge only. (Only one bolt) Then by using a hammer and a peace of iron, I hammered the top hinge inward. Before I tighten the bolt, I checked if the door closed properly. I don't know how long this solution will last, but it works like a new door!
