You can use headers, but be sure they can flow easily. max out your carb using a 600 cfm (if you go bigger it may constantly flood and stall) Holly or your pick of a good 4bbl, be sure the carb has a large well breathing air cleaner. Most mufflers reduce horsepower... try running straight pipes like stock cars. THAT WILL IMPROVE HP.. but could get you a ticket. After, change your stock intake to a 1500-6500rpm instead of most stocks that only go 1500-4500. Next, go with racing spark plugs. Then believe it or not, Ive been trying a octane boost mixture created my the NOS system..it works GREAT. all this is easy to do and most beginners can do it all
