it is with the fuel sending unit and is in series with the circuit that powers and measures the resistance on the sending unit via the float on the sending unit.
Remove the fuel tank and then the sending unit. The fuel pump is on the fuel sending unit bracket.
You must remove the fuel tank.
Lower the Gas tank. Remove the sending unit/fuel pump from the tank and replace the unit. The sending unit and fuel pump come together.

You need to drop the fuel tank to gain access to the sending unit assembly.
likely causes are the fuel sending gasket or the rubber gas filler. they are cheap to change out so i would suggest it. Next would likely be the tank itself.
