Break it
Use a 14mm box wrench.
I had this problem today with my 2000 Sonoma. There is a black plastic cover over the wiper arm below the hinged portion. This plastic cover is hard to remover because it is tabbed at the base (didn't know this until I removed it) and is hooked around the spring loaded hinged end. I pried up this outer portion and was lucky not to break it but the plastic is flexible enough to let me abuse it. Getting the end free enabled me to pull this end up and remove it from the base. Once I did that I could get to the nut that holds the wiper arm to the wiper motor. Removing this nut enabled me to remove the wiper arm and see that the splines designed to keep the arm from slipping had stripped out. Hope that helps others. Bill M. zx6rdr@gmail.com
There will be a cover on the end where the arm connects to the motor. If you remove that small plastic cover there is a 13mm nut threaded onto a bolt. If you remove that bolt and other hardware that follows you can easily remove the wiper arm.
on bottom of arm is a nut, to take off arm remove this nut, then wiggle arm off shaft.
Remove the plastic cover from the arm, there is a size 12 nut on its base you can loosen, then just pull the arm by holding it from its base.
Remove plastic cap. Remove nut. Pry up wiper arm.....
Remove the wiper arm retaining clip. The retaining clip will be just below the wiper arm connection. Hold the retaining clip in and the wiper arm will come off.
A wiper arm on a 2001 Honda Civic is screwed on. To remove it unscrew the mounting hardware and take off the wiper arm.
you just pick up the wiper arm
# Raise the rear wiper arm finish cap to expose the wiper arm nut. # Remove the rear wiper arm nut (1). # Lift the rear wiper arm assembly (2) away from the rear window and remove the wiper arm from the pivot shaft. The cap tilts up toward the arm
To remove the spring loaded wiper arm you have to first of all to unscrew the screws. After the screws have been removed, the spring loaded wiper arm can then be removed.
