Call up Chrysler and tell them to recall these shifters, it has caused too many problems... Inside the shifter there is a defective cable hook system which will stretch or brake over time. You can have it towed to the dealer where they will charge you for a new gear shift box 350.00 and install it (they don't fix problems inside it, they just replace the whole thing) or you can take the cover off (two screws under the plastic cover in front of the shifter) and try to push the pink plastic slider or pull back on the cable till you can move the shifter out of park. Good luck and even if you get it fixed it might happen again since it is a defective part they keep using...
You can buy a repair part from the dealer that comes with instructions. You do not have to replace the entire shifter.
