Both Cavalier engines, the 2.2 & 2.4 in 2000 are DOHC.
in the end of the radiator hose on the block.
Cavalier's were made with both and the cars model wont even tell you which size your cavalier has. You need to take off the wheel and try to read the stamp on the drum or if it's too rusted you'll have to take off the drum and measure the inside diameter where the shoes sit.
Don't have one, It has a Air/Oil separator, it don't need any maintenance ...Don't have a EGR either..yes it does have a egr valve i do-not no why the hell u tell the wrong info ......

The Z24 has overdrive, the base models are 3 speed autos
trac sensor might be bad that was my prob on same year cavalier i had same problem, had a diagnostic test run, came back saying i needed new TPS just got that fixed, now it seems ok

There should be a sticker under the hood that identifies the engine, it might be on the strut tower, or on the hood itself.

Call a Chevy dealer and ask for parts dept. and give them the VIN# and ask them what the gear ratio is and they will tell you.
