My keypad doesn't light up anymore on my 1995 Ford Explorer and I was told that the assembly would have to be changed in order to fix the problem , it's not just a bulb
As far as I know the keypad has to be changed ( my 1995 Ford Explorer XLT keypad doesn't light up anymore , also )
look up by the brake pedal and its on a white box its up high use a flash light
On my 1997 8x places a new remote and 10x clears all remotes so you can start all over with new remotes.
On most cars, including Ford Explorer's, once you fill the tire up with air, should reset itself. If the light does not reset on its own, check your manual for the proper procedure.
I was told by a GM dealer that Ford has the patent locked up.
I was looking at the 2006 Ford Explorer Owner Guide and the wrench light is the Powertrain Malfunction Indicator . It lights up when a powertrain or 4x4 fault has been detected , take it to the dealer
On any Ford model which has a keypad, there are several places to find the factory pre-set code. The best and most easily accesible for my Explorer was inside the jack compartment.Remove the cover.Take a flashlight and mirror to locate the code. It is between the wheel well and inside panel. You'll need to be sitting on the inside of the cargo area to see it. It will be a 5-digit number. When you test it, you'll know its the right one because as soon as you push the correct initial number, your keypad will light up.
Yes , the ( 3 ) circles above the headlight switch light up ( OFF / park light symbol / low beam headlight symbol ) at least it does on my 1995 Ford Explorer XLT
When the vehicle is shut off and locked up , the flashing theft light shows that the alarm system is armed
Could be bad brakelight switch or blown fuse
Then you need to have code checked, you can diagnose from there.
You will need to take it to a Ford dealership. They will hook up a computer to it and that will give the code.
