My grandfather was given a gun during the great depression in return for medical services rendered. The gun was supposed to be made around or pre the civil war period. It was a side by side 2bl barrel 12 gauge, ornate exterior hammers, with scrolling on the side plates and a walnut pistol grip. I hunted with the gun as a boy, I believe it was an English gun and the barrels were gray. My mom kept the gun in her summer home in a case behind the dresser. Caretakers have had access to the house. I recently pulled out the gun. It was a J Stevens A&T Model 250. I believe a swap was made. The stock is a plain non-pistol stock, there is no scrolling. Can anyone tell me if the J Stevens Model 250 had gray barrels?
