No it doesn't
You need a transponder key in the ignition switch, not under the dash. The sensor is located near the ignition switch and it has a very short range of sensitivity.
The only way to use a standard key on the 2000 Ford Focus, would include leaving the transponder key taped or fastened to the ignition or steering column. Then, a standard key will start the vehicle.?æ
The Daewoo had NO transponder on any of their vehicles from 1999-2002. Incorrect. The Daewoo Leganza had a transponder option in 2001+, as did the Lanos. The Nubria had a transponder option in 2000+.
dealer it,s a coded key works with a transponder in system
You don't
Do you have the original ignition key?? Tape the old ignition key to the cowling around the ignition, then put new key in the ignition and see if it will run. The reason for this is there is a transponder chip in the old key that needs to be picked up by the rim module around the ignition barrel. If it works, take keys apart and swap transponder chip . Hope this helps
the plastic cover on a key with an immobilizer is softer and larger than one without. if you have no key to compare, look on the dash with the key not in the ignition. if there is a red light in the shape of a car with a key shape on it that flashes every 2 seconds or so, it has a transponder. when you put the key in the ignition the light turns off.
I believe it has what's called passkey 3. There is a transponder embedded in the key head. There is an exciter ring / theft deterrent module mounted around the lock cylinder. When key is inserted, transponder emits proper code to exciter ring which in turn sends a class 2 serial data message to the powertrain control module to allow fuel and ignition operation.
This is not for the rule abiding, uptight individual, so as far as the rest of the world goes.. if you have one key to your transponder key vehicle. Simply take the key hide it under your dash on the driver side in any fashion you feel comfortable with, but, of course, have a key cut that matches it(regular key) your computer will pick up the transponder under the dash and the $3 key will start it. Your other question will be "can people still my car now" yes, they can... will they.. NO, probably not. The reason for that is, that thieves know what they are stealing. they know your car has a transponder on it and won't even try.. they will move on to the next car. Can you bypass the transponder? NO. once again.. a thief knows this...
Yes it is.
Should work 1999-2006 Pontiac Montana. To create spare key: 1) Place alread programmed key into ignition. Cycle ignition from OFF - ON(RUN) - OFF. 2) Within 15 seconds, insert the new transponder key in the ignition. 3) Turn the key to ON(RUN) or START. 4) The theft "Security" light will go on then off. Turn key to "OFF" position. 5) The key will now start the vehicle.
