well you are way to vague in your question,um are we talking small block motor, automatic transmission, a basic granny special probably had a limited slip rear end installed from factory. but if you talking big block motor four speed transmission and real tall gears for freeway acceleration then you more then likely was stock from factory with a posi rear end

The easiest way that I know of to check is to raise the back of the car, leave the tranny in park. Spin one tire by hand, if the opposite tire is spinning in the same direction it is a posi, if the other tire is spinning in the opposite direction it is an open differential.
