About $1700.
yes
Most of the time, you gotta pull it. The whole engine's gotta come out. The camshaft will have to slide out the front of the block. It's a whole lotta work.no you dont have to pull it allyou have to do is take your radiator out then your grill yhen you can continue taking out the cam
The camshaft of a 350 Chevrolet engine is held in place by a retaining plate or the lifters. The retention method depends on whether the cam is a roller or flat tappet design.
Depends on the type and make of engine, your expertise and the tools available. I could totally dismantle and rebuild a lawnmower engine in a day, - a Chevy 350 took me a little longer.
Nothing. They are all the same length
i just rebuilt a 350 cost with head work $600.00 and it was done right greg
A bare Chevy 350 engine block weighs about 200 to 250 pounds. When you add in the crankshaft, camshaft, headers, and the intake it is more like 500 to 550 pounds.
Yes, there would be subtle differences, but they are interchangeable.
yes.
That is because of the way the gear on the distributor and camshaft is tapered. If you turn it the other way it will pull the camshaft towards the rear of the engine. That is all normal. When you put it all together it won't do that.
