I replaced a broken Gas Cap 2 weeks ago and the Check Engine Light came on 1 week ago. I got the code P4055 today - and am hoping that the New Gas Cap will fix the problem. How can I reset the Check Engine Light?
your gas cap may not be installed correctly
Check your gas cap. I had a 2402 on my S40 and the gas cap was bad, easy fix...
pressure in the fuel tank with out a vented gas cap
It means that the EVAP system senses a leak in the gas cap, or filler neck. The most common problems that cause this, are a loose gas cap, or a defective gas cap.
If the Suburban is E85 ready, but the gas cap says to avoid it, then avoid it until a check with a mechanic can be made. The gas cap might be a replacement gas cap if the vehicle was purchased used.
Check your gas cap to see if it is on right. I had that once and it was my gas cap not being on right.
No, a loose gas cap can cause the check engine light to come on but not the low fuel light.
i have replaced my gas cap twice on my 2004 grandprix and the lcheck gas cap lights goes off for about two weeks and comes back on what could this be

The gas cap may not be tight enough or defective. Tighten it until you hear 3 clicks. If the light stays on replace the cap.
Could be a defective gas cap (bad sealing gasket?)
