no. And if it does, the pump is not the right pump.
You can find step by step instructions for changing your oil pump in your SUV at Autoparts.com. It's pretty easy if you ask me. Thanks for asking this question.
Changing the oil pump requires putting the car up on jack stands and locating and removing the oil pan after removing the oil pan,you will see the oil pump
You need the user manual as reference when changing the oil pump 5.4 Ford Expedition.
I have a 1999 GMC Yukon Dunoli oil pump went out and Ineed to now what i hafe to remove to get the oilpan out.
As the engine speed increase so does the speed of the oil pump. the faster the pump turns the higher the pressure becomes. When changing gear the engine speed drops along with the oil pressure.
The oil pump is bolted to the bottom of the engine block inside the oil pan. A lot of work is involved in changing this part. I suggest you see a mechanic.
Belt, tensioner, idler pulley, H2O pump, camshaft oil seal, crankshaft oil seal, oil pump drive seal and gaskets.
You have to pull the oil pan to get to the oil pump. Replacing the pump is straightforward once the oil pan is off. Unfortunately you may need to lift the engine to get the oil pump off. The reality is, when the oil pressure is down you're bearings are probably the cause rather than the oil pump. Once the bearing surfaces are worn the oil leaks out the side and the pressure goes down.
Changing the oil pump is not hard...getting to it is. It is inside the oil pan, my suggestion is pull the motor, put it on a stand, take the oil pan off, you will then see the oil pump, should only be a couple of bolts holding it on, change it out, then reassemble. Make sure to get a new oil pan gasket.
You'll need to drop the oil pan to replace the oil pump. There are only 2 or 3 bolts holding the oil pump once the pan is out of the way. The oil pan is the difficult part. The pump is easy. However... Oil pumps seldom fail. If you have low oil pressure it's usually because of excessive rod and/or main bearing wear. Change to a higher viscosity oil before you try to change the oil pump.
Changing the oil pump on a 96 S10 is simple but will take some time. All you do is jack up the car, drain the oil, remove the oil pan gasket, take out the oil pan, unbolt the old oil pump and put in a new one.
