I suspect that your car is moving down the road, If so - it could be anything from a bent/out of balance drive shaft, a bearing in the transmission, any of the bearings in the drive axle assemblies, a very warped rotor,a way out of balanced tire, a bent wheel, a tire with a cord shift. Another thing it could be a front steering problem-such as a loose/worn(a lot) steering component-ball joint, tie rod end,or a idler arm. Also loose lug bolts/nuts, or worn/loose wheel bearings.

If your car is not moving... you may also check the motor mounts.
When the car shakes n it on the correct its becsuse its out of timeing
Check your motor mounts.
Tune up including the fuel filter.
Sounds like a motor mount or a transmission problem.......
Try engine mounts. That could be the cause. If in gear and auto may be the torque converter.
is the transmiton
No you can't. Mine just went on me and when I turn on my car and put it in gear the whole front drivers' side shakes and rumbles. When you do drive it though, it will sound like the car is dragging the engine on the pavement. It's horrific.
i had the same problem with my car i just got the gear box fixed and changed my oil it could also be your diff

You may have soaked the optispark distributor.
If your car shakes while underway, your tires have worn incorrectly from misalignment. If it shakes while in park or not moving, your engine is misfiring.
If a car shakes during acceleration the brake rotors may be damaged. If the rotors are damaged they will be unstable as the tires rotates making the whole car shake.
