Any tansfercase motor is to switch from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive. It is located behide the transfer case and it has 6-7 wire plug. Only automatic push button 4 wheel drive trucks have the transfer case motor.
The encoder motor is located on the transfer case. The transfer case is on the driver's side of the truck. It resides between the front drive line, and the wall of the transfer case.
Many times this type of issue is caused by the motor that changes the transfer from 2 to 4 wheel drive, they get stuck, another issue is dirty fluid, and your transfer case would need service.
If it's not the manual type, then the electric motor on the transfer case is either bad or not getting power. If you really need to drive this vehicle until you can get it fixed right, you can take the electric motor off the transfer case and use a wrench to manually disengage the four wheel drive.
It is located on the transfer case this is the motor that shifts your four wheel drive
The electric shift motor is located on the rear of the transfer case. Attached by 4 bolts and a wiring harness.
Located in the transfer case. You need to remove front driveline, then remove three bolts holding motor. Pretty simple job.
yeah you can! good luck!
possible transfer case encoder motor problem
There is no transfer case on a 2 wheel drive truck.
