In mid 1991 the 4 cylinder engine switched to MPI fuel injection over throttle body. Your computer will have to match the injection type. Also midway through 1991 the 6 cylinder switched from the carburetor version 4.2 to the fuel injected 4.0. As long as the donor computer matches your type of fuel injection-you are OK (auto of manual transmission makes no difference either)
