Drive Pulley = pulley on motor Driven Pulley = pulley on blower First determine your Ratio - divide large pulley size by small pulley size this will give you gear ratio, Example 2" drive pulley and a 4" Driven Pulley = 2:1 gear ratio If you know your motor shaft RPM divide that number by the ratio to get the RPM of the driven pulley, if your shaft rpm is 1800 rpm you would divide 1800 by 2 which would = 900 rpm on your driven pulley if your drive pulley is larger than than your driven pulley you multiply the rpm by the ratio example 1800 rpm x 2 = 3600 rpm
For a pulley, it is driver RPM x driver diameter = driven RPM x driven diameter. Keep in mind that the diameter you should use is the diameter where the belt is riding in the pulley. For instance, an A belt in an AB pulley will ride lower in the pulley than it would in an A pulley. For sprockets, the formula is the same, but replace the diameter with # teeth. It looks like this. driver rpm x # teeth of driver sprocket = driven RPM x # teeth of driven sprocket
You need a special tool from Kawasaki to hold the drive pulley. The Kawasaki part number for the tool is 57001-1520. After you remove the convertor cover. You remove the drive pulley by bolting the tool on the three upper bolts then take off the drive pulley nut (left hand threads). Once the pulley is off take the belt off the driven pulley then you can reinstall the new belt. You also have to check the belt deflection. Put a straight edge from the belt on the drive pulley to the belt on the driven pulley. Using a ruller push down on the belt. The deflection should be no more than 1". If it is I would take the ATV to a Kawasaki dealer. They will need to add or subtract springs and shims from the drive pulley. If the old belt has never been change you might be OK by just replacing it. I have not tried to take the drive pulley off without using the special tool from kawasaki. The best thing you can do is go to RepairManuals.com and look up a KVF650 2003, you can buy the OEM repair manual for $60.00 plus about $6.00 shipping. It has saved me a lot of money.
on the front of the tensioner pulley there will be an arrow than will say loosen. find the right sized socket to fit the bolt in the middle of the pulley. bigger the better for the leverage. it does have alot of tension on it. you need to turn your ratchet the dirrection of the arrow and the drive belt will loosen. slip the belt off the pulley and slowly release the pulley until it stops . there are only usually three mounting bolts on the back of the pulley frame. keep track of the size of the bolts. some may be longer than others. just reverse the order to put it back on.
They do not but the belt pulley system offers much in the way of mechanical advantage pump pulley often much smaller than motor or engine pulley means for every 1 rotation of motor 2 rotations of pump
the failure of the bearings in any of the pulley driven units can cause the belt to break.
A lot bigger. I actually just returned from Ireland and it only takes about 3 hours drive to get from the East side to the West side.

If it is a serpentine belt the idler pulley more than likely needs replacing. If it is a drive belt you are adjusting it too tightly.

*Follow up to question*Any Quantity:i.e. Children cannot drive cars. = Children, regardless of quantity, can't drive cars.Children = Chlldren, regardless of quantityNo matter the number of children you have - one or a million - those children can't drive cars.More Than One:i.e. Cars can't be driven without children. = Cars can't be driven without more than one child.Children = more than one child. This means you can drive with one child. Is my interpretation correct or am I missing something?
