This will depend on the weight of the trailer and the size of your motor. If the vehicle has a six or eight cylinder motor and you are pulling a travel trailer(camper) the weight should not be an issue if you have a tans. cooler. The biggest factor here will be the wind resistance of the trailer and the relatively short wheelbase on the envoy. Also geographic issues(hills) will be an issue. If you are dealing with mountainous terrain I would not expect the 6 cylinder to work well and you will need electric brakes on the towed unit. If you are towing on relatively flat terrain the 6 cylinder will work with a tranny cooler. You're biggest problem is the short wheelbase of the envoy relative to the towed unit. If you run into high crosswinds or bad road conditions you can wind up with a case of the tail wagging the dog so to speak. If you have experience hauling trailers you should be able to handle this, if you don,t you might want to think twice about it.
If the 2004 GMC Envoy came with a tow package, then there should be a trailer brake controller harness. It would be located up under the dash near the brake pedal.
Yes - just put the transfer case in neutral.
12000 lbs
Depends on the rear-end gear ratio. Google "tow rating" and look at the 'Trailer Life' site. They have listings for tow ratings by the vehicles year and other specs.
Compare the GVW of the trailer with the towing capacity of the tow vehicle.
Yes, it is able to tow a trailer.
tow a trailer yesany vehichle should be able to tow a small trailer See related link for video of Toyota echo pulling trailer.
The Grand Cherokee is rated to tow 5,000 pounds, so aslong as you are under that, yes.
Yes. The GMC Envoy comes equipped from factory with a standard tow pkg. They are rated to pull around 5500 lbs. Depending on rear axle ratio 3.42 maybe a little less or 4.10 a little more. Most came with 3.42 or 3.73 rear axles, so 5000-5500 lbs. is a safe bet. You will need to get a trailer brake controller installed in your Envoy if you are pulling more than 4000 lbs.
I have a 2003 nissan murano and want to tow a trailer what is the weight limit
Yes, but it had better be a very small lightweight trailer. You also had better be towing that trailer with a very light load. I do not recommend you tow with the bumper although you can. I recommend you install a frame mounted receiver. Much safer and will allow you to tow all you want. Not that expensive and you can easily DIY if you buy a custom fit receiver.
A 2005 Chevy Cavalier can tow a small utility trailer. A tow hitch has to be purchased and installed on the vehicle before towing the utility trailer.
