All Ford 302 distibutors are interchangable. The differences will be, are they points or electronic ignition. Other differences are year specific in the amount of vacuum advance built into the diaphram. Some of these are adjustable. Unfortunate exception to the rule, I have two 1979 Lincoln Versailles with 302's, the variable venturii model distributor has 1.500 locating diameters, the carb model distributor has 1.562 diameters. Both are electric pickups but definetly not interchangeable.
Yes. The engine is all basically the same, as long as you are replacing a 302 in the 94.
302 H.O. and 351 Windsor small block- 1,3,7,2,6,5,4,8 All other ford V-8's- 1,5,4,2,6,3,7,8 The only difference in an H.O. 302 and a non H.O. 302 internally is the camshaft. Just use the correct firing order for the cam you have. They will interchange. Just remember That ALL '85 and up H.O. cams are roller cams. '84 H.O. and most other 302 cams are not.
15426378 - Same for all small block fords... 351 w is a small block but has 1-2-7-2-6-5-4-8 also all 302 ho have this firing order.Ford did not make the 302 in 66 so its either a 289 or or a late 67
== == In all honesty, the Ford 302 is a much better engine than the 305. The 302 will outlast, outrun, and out pull the 305. The 305 is GM's joke engine. I am a mechanic and GM will sorely suprise you. Cheap quality. Ford all the way. I used to be a Chevy guy, until they ALL tore up on me. Have had 2 Fords since then, and all I have had to do is change the oil, spark plugs, and air filter. I have the 302, MAN is it an awesome engine. Have had the 305 and it's towing ability is very sad. == == == ==
All standard 302 Fords are 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 except the 302 H.O. engine which is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8
yes it will all u need for it to work is have the ecm for the HO
Yes ... the 302s are all the same....the engine mounts are different and the transmission bell housing may be slightly different, but the engines are all the same.
Because Ford Sucks ! I bought mine brand new and it has sounded like that ever since I got it. Sorry that wasn't the answer you were looking for. PS I own Four Ford vans for my business and they are all the same even my new 2003.
1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 It should also be stamped on the intake manifold, same as all Ford engines.
Sorry, all Cobras ( 60's and early 70's ) had the 427 Cobre Jet engine, and it all started in 1968 427's were dohc motors ,, 428 .428,Cobra Jet , were dif ,,429 , 429 Boss , then there was 302 , 302 Boss in 69
First of all, a 1979 Ford 302 should have electronic ignition if it's original. If you have a point distributor in there, it's been changed because someone didn't want to deal with the temperamental early electronics (I've done this myself !). The gap should be .017 (seventeen thousandths).
The meaning of the word distributors is a person, persons or company that supply goods to shops, businesses or individuals. All manufacturers use distributors to get their products into stores and stores use distributors to deliver products to customers.
