It depends on the person. Got a Jeep as my first car and absolutely love it! Do alot of research on them first, and see if the person who the car is for would be able to deal with some of the quirks (i.e. noise level, bumpy ride, temperature). It also depends on whether it's an automatic or manual transmission, as shifting in a manual can be distracting and/or hard to do when you're learning how to drive on your own at first. Other than that, it's a great car!

I own a 97 Jeep wrangler, and I love it. It is an all around awesome vehicle. First, wranglers are just cool. there is just something about seeing a rugged looking 4X4 cruising down the road with the top and doors off. Another great thing is the wranglers off road capability. If you like the idea of being able to go where there are no real roads, a Jeep wrangler is your style. I could go on and on about the pros, so let me try to think of a downside. The only thing that comes to mind is limited storage space. there is not a lot of room in the wrangler. Ultimately it depends on what you are looking for. A jeep wrangler is not a luxury sports car, so obviously it is not extremely comfortable or very fast. but if that is not what you are looking for, and you want a sweet looking, rugged, capable vehicle, take a good look at the Jeep Wrangler.
