I agree I have a 1998 Ford Expedition EB I had the same problem the rear of my truck started sagging after sitting overnight. I didn't worry about it to much which ended up being a big mistake. The hole's in the bags ended up getting worse and before long not only did I need new bags for my expo but needed a new compressor and dryer. That's what the mechanic told me, and what it was going to cost a ton. Well I searched around and heard about strutmasters they do conversion kits it takes off the air system and put on shocks and springs. I have really enjoyed the ride and all. Hope this was some help the website is strutmasters.com good luck.
You should find where is leaking from and fix it before your compressor burn out from running all the time.
sounds like your solenoids are leaking, usually in your air bag (suspension). or a hose.
no it wont
I would take that to be that the suspension springs have been removed and replaced with an air bag suspension system.
Bad solenoid, leaking bags
A possible cause for this is that air suspension pump is continully working due to a leaking air bag
Close the rear-end air dump valve, and the truck will level itself.
If you have figured out where it is leaking from then here is a link to check out. I haven't used these people yet, but I am planning on it if I need to replace the air shocks in the front...
its the air suspension, check the compressor, make sure it is running (no fuse blown). Check your suspension limit switch, make sure its getting power. If all fail,, then your air bags may be leaking and need to be replaced........................................
Low air suspension refers to the fifth wheel height from the ground. The suspension system (low air leaf) is a suspension system with a lower ride height and is used by many transportation companies because it allows their truck to hook up to a variety of trailers. In modern days, low air leaf has been replaced with Flex Air suspension (low air leaf is still available). Flex air has the same ride height but weighs several hundred pounds less, thus allowing the truck to haul more weight in the trailer.
Probably leaking freon.
I'm pretty sure all expeditions came equipped with rear air ride suspension. meaning that there is a malfunction with the air suspension. could be anything with it including: switch is turned off, level sensor failed, air lines or air bags leaking, air pump failure, blown fuse.
Go to Strutmaster.com and buy a conversion kit to eliminate the air ride system all together. That is what I did and I no longer have to worry about the air compressor or air lines or leaking air bags and hoses. I spent about $678 to replace both front and back shocks and springs and did the work myself.
