it's the swithch itself. I got mine from the dealer. I forget how much but it wasn't bad. Had to take the cover off the front (under the dash) There are several screws (one torx) and some are hard to see. I never did put all mine back. I've changed mine twice now. My Cherokee has 280,000 miles.
