What to do when the gear is stuck in park on a Honda 2001
Sounds like the heater's temperature blend door is stuck in the hot positions. See "Related Questions" below for lots more about dealing with it - hopefully yours is just the actuator and a simple repair.
Start with checking the fuses.
Check for a blown fuse.
Check the fuses. If the brake light fuse blows it won't come out of park.
put your foot on the brake.... if that doesn't work you have to fix the wiring for the brake/transmission interlock
This is a blown brake fuse check your break fuse and should fix it.

Key is designed to not come out unless the transmission is in the park position. If the shifter is in park but the transmission is not, then the linkage (which hooks the shifter to the transmission) has somehow come out of adjusment. It will need to be adjusted - I would suggest having this done by a professional.
When trunks get older, sometimes the latches get stuck. To fix them a person needs to add oil to the latch to loosen up the parts of the lock and turn the key hard.
A person should replace the power roof fuse to help fix it, if it is stuck open. In the meantime,a Êperson can try to pull it shut with their hand or their tools.Ê
the park tab is bent. it is a thick piece of metal that must be bent back slightly toward the wiper motor with a hammer or plyers. I assume this issue started when there was snow/ice on the windshield?
