I assume you want to change out the water pump and would like to know if you can do it without draining the radiator. You will lose approximately all the coolant in the radiator reservoir when you remove the radiator hose from the water pump. If the coolant is in good, clean condition, it might be wise to drain the radiator into a container and re-use the coolant.
You have to take the lower rad hose off. They stopped putting the drain valve on the systems after 2002. Try www.trailvoy.com for all the answers for your Trailblazer!

The idle air control valve on a 2004 Trailblazer is located inside the coolant system. This valve regulates the air that comes into the cabin.

The only way to drain all the coolant is to unhook the bottom radiator hose. The radiator does NOT have a drain vale.
Even without a cap, you still have a drain plug at the bottom of the radiator, it will unscrew, and release all your water, then you have a separate resovoir for coolant that you fill it back up with, it will say coolant on it.
Drain plug or petcock at bottom or rear of radiator or Remove lower radiator hose
The basic method of draining the coolant is the same in all cars. Basically there should be a drain plug at the lower part of the radiator. Look in the car handbook to locate this. Open this and keep a bucket or container as it will drain fluid. Once drained, close the drain plug and top it with coolant. Check the ratio of the coolant mixture on the bottle
Google Honda pilot block heater. There is a parts dealer that includes installation instructions showing where the plug is to drain the coolant. This is where the block heater screws in, replacing the bolt.
