A 2007 Chrysler Sebring that will not shift out of Park will probably need a shift solenoid replaced. This is inside the transmission and the transmission might have to be taken out of the vehicle to be fixed.
This vehicle has an almost unnoticable shift into overdrive. You will notice your revs go down slightly when it engages. if your car has been stuck in 2nd gear then your transmission has automatically engaged protect mode and you should immediately take your vehicle to a repair shop.
Stuck in "Park"? check stop light fuse and stop light switch Try turning key to 1st (unlock) position then shift to neutral to start vehicle and then shift to Drive
Ummmm, the shift cable broke or came off the lever under the dash?
Shift it on 2H, then "REVERSE" for about 10 to 15 Feet....
If the gear shift lever does not move out of drive, or if the lever moves but the transmission stays in drive, it is possibly the linkage and a relatively easy fix. Turn everything off, then look under the hood along the steering column or under the vehicle for something that is hanging loose or moves when the shift lever moves.
One possibility is the shift rod in the steering column may have broke, that happened to my 93. The shift lever wouldn't move, that is what led me to believe it was the shift rod.
Take transfer case apart its stuck I'm doin it right now
The brake pedal shifter release switch is disengaged. You will need to go under the driver kick panel area and manually press the switch (look to see if the switch wire harness is loose)
NO
your shift solenoid a is stuck open in your tranny time for a gagage visit
If you are no longer able to shift, then it's possible the linkage is broken. If this is a periodic problem, you may need to adjust the linkage or shift cable so that everything is prooerly lined up
