A check engine light means that a malfunction has been detected with the emission control system - if the check engine light does not go out ( sometimes the problem corrects itself and the light goes out ) have the Ranger scanned for trouble codes in order to diagnose and then repair the malfunction
It could be just a loose gas cap!
over pressureized crank case
That is what the check engine light is for. It informs you of a failure.
You would really need to have your Ranger scanned for any trouble codes to diagnose and then repair the malfunction with your emission control system . There are just too many possibilities
A flashing check engine light is an indication of a severe engine misfire.
No, low gas cannot cause a Check Engine light to turn on. There would have to be a problem within the engine or the engine wiring for that light to come on.
Something is affecting the emission controls for the engine You would need to have the vehicle scanned for any trouble code(s) to help diagnose and repair the problem
There are a lot of sensors that can trip the engine light, you would have to scan it to know which one is causing the error
Probably because you need to check the engine.
Yes, it is possible as you may have a miss. That miss would turn on the check engine light.
their is more than one oxygen sensor but the one that is probly bad is on the exhaust system. otherwise I would check the map sensor.
