Also check in engine compartment wher the air suspension bags Top part are located 3 nuts or 4 don't remember , remove plastic cover that Hides the screw for bags. Listen for air leak from tha location. If that's where it's coming from replace bag.

∙ 13y agoLikely your system has a leak and the compressor can't keep up with the volume of the leak. <><><> Agree. The air bags in the suspension of ours had developed small holes, and the compressor could not keep up. Get that fixed before the compressor burns out.
Could be one or both of the front air bags or the spider valve in the compressor.
Bad height sensor or air suspension compressor has died? If you hear the pump, then it might be the sensors. If there's nothing, could be a blown fuse or the system was swtiched off (switch in the trunk)
GENUINE PARTS MFG: RELAY, F3LZ-2C013-B. DO YOU KNOW THAT YOU COULD REPLACE THE REAR AIR SUSPENSION WITH SPRINGS? NO MORE RELAYS, SWITCHES, AIR COMPRESSOR OR AIR LINES TO WORRY ABOUT. THANKS! J.T.
there are several causes to the air pump. the first and most obvious is the air pump (compressor) itself. if you do not hear the compressor pumping air or if you do not feel the slight vibration of the compressor when you put your car into drive, then it's probably the compressor that has gone bad. if the compressor is coming on and you do not hear any air leaking, then your problem could be the height adjuster, located on the suspension bags themselves. Bronconvict: another possibility includes the compressor relay switch. This switch controlls the power to the air bag suspension compressor. This switch is known for burning out when the suspension compressor is working too hard. This can also be caused by a bad/corroded GEM module (due to notorious winshield leak). i had to replace "height sensor" on driver side . part was $200.
Bad solenoid, leaking bags
Bad compressor? Air leak in system? Excessive vehicle weight?
If it has air bag suspension, air bags could be shot or the air compressor for the air bag suspension not working.
I assume that the switch also turns off the air compressor for the suspension. The effects will not be very clear for the first 5-10min. of driving, but eventually the ride will become more and bumpier because the compressor is not re-pressurizing the system. The suspension will be bottomed out constantly, because there is no air holding the truck up, and the truck will look like a low rider. That's what happened when our 2004's air compressor failed. I could be wrong if it does not turn off the compressor, but if it does, this is what will happen.
A possible cause for this is that air suspension pump is continully working due to a leaking air bag
i believe that would be your fuel pump it comes on when you turn the key to acc so you have adequite pressure when you start edit. it could be your air compressor for suspension.. mine comes on when i turn my key. runs for a minute and cuts off
SInce it is still going up sometimes that means the compressor is still holding on, but it also means you more than likely have a crack or hole in your airbag. This causes the compressor to work extra hard because it is like blowing up a balloon with a hole in it. This will eventually cause the compresor to die as well. Air suspension is always a hassle and is never truly fixed. I would recommend going to strutmasters.com and taking a look at the conversion kits. This will convert the Mark VII from air to Powder coated, American made steel coil springs that are guaranteed to last the life of the car. I posted the link below so you can take a look. http://www.strutmasters.com/lincoln-suspension-parts-s/1.htm Hope this will help
