The Boeing 777 can boast that it is the worlds largest twin jet aircraft. It originally began flying the Boeing 777-200 which was the first in its series in 1995. The Emirates, United Airlines, Air France as well as Singapore Airlines have the Boeing 777 in their fleet of aircraft.
It depends on the model of the plane, and the configuration of seats. Singapore Airlines operates Boeing 777, Airbus A380, Airbus A340, and Airbus A330 aircraft.
Singapore Airlines has been voted as the BEST airline (world wide) on a number of occassions for service, value and comfort. As such, I would imagine their economy class seating on the 777 would be as good (or better) than on their 747's.
On a Boeing 777 there are two seating configurations... on ones like United airlines it is 2-5-2 but 90 percent of the time it is 3-3-3
http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Singapore_Air/Singapore_Air_Boeing_777-200_3.php it is 3-3-3 in economy class.

On April 9, 1994, the first Boeing 777, line number WA001, was rolled out, the first of nine test aircraft. On May 15, 1995, Boeing delivered the first 777, registered N777UA, to United Airlines.
You can find the Boeing 777 seating chart here: http://insideflights.com/Airplanes/Boeing_777-seats-reviews-(777).html and information about the Boeing 777 on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_777#777-200
It really depends on what you're looking for. The Boeing 747 has a large seating capacity, it is comfortable, stable, and great for long range flights. The Boeing 777 is popular aircraft that airlines are using to replace the 747 in long range flights because of it's efficiency and low fuel consumption. Overall, I like the 747 better because it's more spacious, safe, and confortable.
Most large airlines operate the different variants of the 777, Singapore Airlines is the largest user of the 777's to date, with Emirates not far behind with a large number of the 300ER type. Other notable's are British Airways, United Airlines, American Airlines, Qatar Airways and Pakistan International Airways. The 777-200LR operates the longest non stop commercial flight with Emirates Airlines, from Dubai - San Francisco. Nelson_98 says: I was told that also Air Canada also uses them. (Air Canada is Canada's Official airliner.) I know because I am Canadian!!!! Emirates has now recently become the worlds largest operator of the 777. Also it is the only airline to use every variant. 772 772ER 773 773ER 77L and 77F
Yup, However it depends on where your going.... Longer flights on 777's will but a short flight will on a 737 will not, hence its a small aircraft... Travel Safe!!
Yes they did and they acquired more when they merged with Continental Airlines.
