yes Montana has sales tax. there tax is 8.7 sales tax. NO, Montana does NOT have a Sales Tax. Or, to put it another way, there is a 0.0% sales tax. I have lived here for years...I don't pay a sales tax. Whoever said yes, must not live in Montana.
They are special events get-up ( tenue in French) and not everyday utility clothes such as Levis which are tax-exempt- the same applies to Halloween costumes which are show or luxury items under the law.

If the wedding band has a company and pays taxes then yes, they would have to pay sales tax. If they are just playing for the pleasure of it and are paid (under the table ... cheating the government) then there is no tax. If a friend has a band and they play and get paid there would be no tax and if that friend has a company they can write it off as a wedding gift.
